Bike Rental Bologna started in 2010 from a passion for bicycles made for travel — and from a simple idea: give each rider the preparation, attention and practical help that makes a cycling journey easier.
Hello, I'm Andrea. I manage Bike Rental Bologna, shaping the service around what I would want to receive as a travelling cyclist: a friendly welcome, a carefully prepared bicycle, useful local advice and enough time to understand the ride ahead.
Bologna is an ideal starting point. The city is connected by rail and airport, yet within a short distance the landscape changes into hills, countryside roads and routes that can continue far beyond the region.
The collection is deliberately selective. Touring bikes are Andrea's personal point of pride, prepared for luggage and longer travel. Gravel, race and mountain bikes serve riders heading towards the hills or covering more demanding distances. City and folding bikes keep shorter and train-connected journeys practical.
The aim is not to offer the largest number of bicycles. It is to understand the request and prepare the most suitable available option.
Andrea personally handles most requests, bike preparation and workshop work. Booking ahead gives him the time to check availability, prepare the correct size and arrange the accessories required for your ride. Every returned bicycle is cleaned and checked, and worn or damaged components are replaced when necessary.
Bike Rental Bologna provides bicycle rental, not organised tours. Andrea can still share practical suggestions about timing, local food and the character of different riding areas. Future partners may offer guided experiences, accommodation or regional visits, but these remain separate services.
Customers travelling by bicycle may ask about leaving excess luggage at the shop during the rental period. This is a practical courtesy subject to space, timing and Andrea's confirmation.
